Camps organized in schools by Public Health Department
Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering for Women, Pune : 11/10/18

The Department of Public Health Dentistry organized and conducted a free dental check up and health awareness camp at Bharati Vidyapeeth college of Engineering for women on 11/10/2018. A total of 129 students, staff (teaching and non-teaching) were examined.
With the joint efforts of Principal Prof. (Dr.) S. R. Patil and head of students development Prof. Kalyani, we were successfully able to accomplish the task of examining the oral health status of 129 students and staff members in the college premises under the supervision of Prof. Judy Koshy. The interns subsequently headed to various classes to give oral health lectures on issues generally faced by college going students. Demonstration of correct brushing technique was then done to complete the dental awareness camp.

A free dental check up and health awareness camp was conducted at Poona Women’s Council Primary and Secondary English Medium School, Camp, Pune on 13/8/18 and 14/8/18 respectively. This camp was organized by Department of Public Health Dentistry . 525 students were examined.

The Department of Public Health Dentistry organized and conducted a free dental check up and health awareness camp at Pune Cambridge Public School Dhankawadi, Pune, on 23/8/2018. A total of 147 students were examined. Toothbrushing technique was demonstrated to the students using models.

Library Book Exhibition
The Library Advisory Committee of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) Dental College and Hospital, Pune under the guidance of Respected Principal- Dr Rajesh Kshirsagar Sir had organized a Book Exhibition of Dental and allied subjects on 29th and 30th August 2018 in the college library.
The dealers who participated in the book exhibition were M/s Prashant Distributors and Book Sellers and M/s Jaypee Brothers Medical Publishers. Total of approximately 550 Textbooks of all subjects and branches of clinical and pre clinical Dentistry were exhibited.
There was active and enthusiastic participation of Staff and Students to view/browse latest books in their subject of choice. Senior faculties, after browsing the exhibited books have made requisition for purchase of selected books.
The entire programme was co-ordinated by Senior Librarian of the college- Mr Suresh Jadhav.
